Polymeri Online 29.12.12 | Polymer clay mailbox, Academic millefiori project, Fun fridge magnets, Marcame in Sweden and Kemper cutter stamping

Polymer clay mailbox!
Carol Lessans created a beautiful outdoor mailbox covered in full by polymer clay tiles. What a project! I couldn't find any website of hers, but you can enjoy some of her creations on Facebook.

Karen's framed boxes
Karen's Christmas card background
Karen Woodhall is a student from Australia, completing an advanced diploma of visual arts, she became hooked on polymer clay about 6 months ago and decided to use it in her final body of work. She contacted me by email asking for an advice on a specific display she was thinking about and from there I learned about her project. Finally, she made a set of five clay sheets which were displayed in box frames and also used her recent project as a Christmas cards background. I am so happy for her to found polymer to enjoy and use as her final project. I am sure polymer artists will only benefit from such an academic exposure.
Karen does not have a website yet, I wish her the best of luck!

Polymer clay fish photo magnet
Vicky Wolf 's etsy store is full of polymer clay and crochet goodies, I loved her fish picture frame magnet! She enjoys polymer clay, crocheting, knitting, oil painting, ceramics, macrame, plaster crafts, dried flower arranging and probably needs more than 24 hours a day for all of these!
don't miss her reindeer magnet too!

Macrame how-to project
Being one of Kathy weaver's pinterest followers, I noticed a macrame knotting project she posted. Although in Sweedish, you can understand the steps by looking at the photos. Thank you Kathy!

Polymer clay heart sheet
This is oldie I don't remember seeing before! Use your kempers heart cutters along with acrylic paint to print a heart sheet! Simple and easy project by Debbie Martin -

Polymeri Online 13.12.12 | Christmas earrings, decorations, ornaments and jewelry, Skyscraper in ThePolymerArts Blog

Christmas is a minute away and the web is full of wonderful creations. It is only natural that the perfect material to create wonderful gifts, pins, jewelry and tree ornaments will be polymer clay!

APieceofLisa - Lisa J. Ammerman started her creations over 40 years ago when she was a child. After graduation, she discovered polymer clay and was immediately hooked, she started making jewelry pieces and a few Christmas ornaments, did a few craft shows with mixed results, but she knew she had to stick with it. The following year she started making miniature figurines and expanded her Christmas line to limited edition ornaments and slowly gathering her fans. Good luck Lisa!
Polymer Clay Earrings
HugsKissesMINI - Ada Kalomoiri is a polymer clay artist from Athens, Greece, this is her version of Christmas candy cane earrings with gingerbread! I love the a-symmetric design! She is specializing in miniature food for food "addicts" and jewelry lovers.

Extrudinary - 15 Ways To Re-Discover Your Polymer Clay Extruder | NEW Tutorials

EXtrudinary - TRIO Cuff Tutorial
I have a story for you.
Long time ago, sometime in the 15th century,
a secret group in Italy created something no one has ever done before - Pasta.
They called themselves - "The Extrudinaries"...

Sounds about right, doesn't it? Well, I'm Just kidding... :)

My family and friends know I'm a serious pasta addict.
I could probably eat pasta day and night if it wouldn't be so dangerous to my waist line.
EXtrudinary - Tribal Embroidery Bracelet

Being such a fan, I wasn't surprised when my DH announced on my 40th birthday celebration that we are going to look for the best Pasta in Italy.

One late evening in Florence, while looking for a place to have dinner, we peeked into a small neighborhood restaurant, hoping it's still open for hungry diners.
The owner escorted us to our table, and on our way there I noticed one of the chefs working with a large machine, shooting endless pieces of pasta.
"What is this machine?" I asked the owner.
EXtrudinary - Art Deco Bracelets
"La Pasta estrusore", she answered, a pasta extruder.
"Can I take a closer look?..." I asked
"Of course!" she said.
So I walked into the kitchen, thrilled, staring at this wonder.
The extruder was producing beautiful rigatoni, one by one, shooting the perfection into a large bowl. I was hypnotized,

Being a clay enthusiast, I couldn't avoid thinking of my dear friend, my personal clay extruder.
That moment I knew what I'm going to do next.

EXtrudinary - Life Savers Beads Tutorial
This is the story of our polymer clay extruder, a special and powerful tool, that you probably have somewhere in your drawer, hidden in the dark most of the time.

Well, its time has come and it is ready to come out and play!

So now I ask you -
Why settle for just retro canes, when there are so many other designs just waiting to be discovered and created?

Get your clay extruder up and running - Upgrade your extrusion abilities and techniques to the top level and use it as your personal Sous-Chef de Cuisine assistant!

Polymeri Online 26.11.12 | BW polymer-wood bangle, Reindeer Brooch, Doodling on IPAD, More Synergy surveys and Stay tuned to my next tutorial...

Polymer Clay Bangle by Melody Tallon
Australian artist Melody Tallon posted her black and white polymer clay bracelet using bulzeye canes on a wooden bangle blank.
she used slices of the canes, pushed onto the white surface in organic groupings, then, the whole piece was cured. Later, she used a permanent marker to color the black outlines and made the dalmatian-like spots. Love B&W.

Reindeer Brooch by Yoluni
Hitatura is the artist behind "YOLUNI handmade multicolor jewelry" etsy store, She (hope it's a she) is from Japan and loves to create things, polymer clay made and others. There is something about Japanese art that always amazes me with the fresh, light and clean feeling to it.

Doodling on your IPAD
Libby posted her list of "Apps for Doodling on an iPad".
I tell you, even though I am not a painter/drawing person myself, they really seems appealing!!!

Anke Humpert is collecting data for her Synergy presentation, you probably noticed several surveys collecting important polymer fact, news and data to be presented on Synergy.
Her subject is "European Polymer Clay scenes".
Would appreciate your assistance! Thank you!

Soon...My New Tutorial
I am in my final stages of finishing my new tutorial, 15+ projects, 14 videos and infinite working hours :) Stay tuned, or join the guessing game in my Facebook :)

Polymeri Online 17.11.12 | Beardy brooches, Santa's jewelry, Glue gun texturing and Plaid cane tutorial

Bearded brooches by Hacklock
Australian artist Heather is the owner of Hacklock.
Hacklock specializes in colorful modern jewelry made out of polymer clay.
Her Bearded figures looks so cool! These pendants and brooches are the result of a collaboration between Hacklock and Boy Beardy for Boy's art exhibition, They remind me of real people! :)

Polymer clay jewelry by Fracmatic
Norway artist  "Fracmatic" is named Santa. According to her it is a common name in Norway.
She loves to create things herself, reaching for the best quality and balance between beauty and wearability. Her store has great polymer clay and paper beads jewelry.

Hot glue gun rollers for texturing
A very useful idea for texturing - create your own texture roller using hot glue gun! This idea was published in Emily Murphy's pottery blog and can be an option for polymer clay as well.
I did not try it but we should check if the glue does not have a chemical reaction with polymer clay.
Ceramics and pottery are an art I have never tried before, I am sure I will one day...

Polymer clay tutorial plaid cane
Here is a fun tutorial for plaid millefiori cane by Naver blog. The tutorial is in Korean but Google Chrome can help with translation.
And another tutorial for a simple stripes ring -

Thank you for sending me your warm messages, I am ok, I do not live in the missile zone but my heart is with my friends and family that are.
I wish there could be a solution for all this, I will pray for it.
Have a safe and quiet weekend.

Polymer clay donuts / Hannuka Sufganiot
Hanukah is coming and it's time for donuts or as we call it in Hebrew - "Sufganiot". This treat is offered only in this holiday and isn't available in my country at the rest of the year. Here is a cute tutorial for making it, without the calories.

Texturing with a pen
Texture with a pen? In this tutorial kalin kapolinka is creating a texture by tracing a drawing with a pen onto the clay, this way creating an indentation in the clay to create a texture - Cool! Tutorial in Russian but photos are self explanatory

Polymeri Online 31.10.12 | Healing polymer clay, 25 favorite list, Curved blade and Michaels 146 clay projects

Polymer clay Sculpture by Antonia
Midnight orange is D. Antonia's polymer clay shop. She was living on her own since she was 16 years old and at the time was literally a starving artist. Still in high school and working 20 hours a week, she found she couldn't pay her bills so began making simple beaded necklaces that were sold at the cafeteria lunch tables.
On 2009 she discovered clay, aiming to capture humanity, feelings and emotion, she saw her pieces touch people. This was her greatest reward. Her sculptures are now used by therapists in places around the world as part of the healing process.
Every artist can relate to her message - "Whether I earn one dollar or one hundred dollars off a piece of my artwork, the ability to make someone laugh, cry, or heal is by far the most humbling and extraordinary payment I could ever have hoped to receive." I wish Antonia all the luck in the world, a true inspiring story.

The 25 favorite polymer clay items list

Please take a look at Melody's O'beau's 25 favorite polymer clay studio tools, gadgets & glues part 1 and part 2 - great stuff!

Polymer clay curved blade

Why won't we make ourselves a new tool? is sharing her way of creating a curved blade.
This webpage refused to be translated by any of my translators but looking at the pictures I am guessing we have to drill the blade and use a nut of a bolt to secure it? Hope I understood correctly.

Polymer clay pumpkin tutorial
Last one is Michaels projects page, containing new tutorials for clay. Choose the "clay crafting" section on your left and you will see 146 projects to choose from. I liked the mixed media pumpkin project using Premo Clay. The project was demonstrated by Syndee Holt. Some of the projects are made with air dry, fimo or other clays.,default,sc.html

Yes, I know it's been a while, I did not forget my PolyPediaOnline duties and I am currently working on a new class, as usual it is a big project. My vocals are off at the moment (Hoarse? is that the word?) so thank god I do not have to do recordings otherwise I wouldn't recognize my own voice. Hopefully the new class will be online toward the end of the November or sooner. Thank you for asking how I am doing :) I appreciate it.

This Saturday is my 41st birthday (and my daughter's is celebrating her 16th), I am hosting a festive noon party, any ideas for tasty beverages? ;)
Take care you all, especially the folks in the eastern side of US...

Polymeri Online 22.10.12 | Kinetic box, Polymer clay tree ornaments, Snow globe tutorial and Globe rings

Wanaree's hinged metal box tutorial
I came across this video a while ago and bookmarked it so I can share it with you guys. Although this class is for metal clay artists you may find some of the ideas shown here useful with your polymer clay work.
Wanaree Tanner is documenting the creation of a "Gallery Box": a kinetic, hinged metal clay box with interchangeable tiles. Makes me think again about trying metal clay...polymer rocks! ;)
Yvi's FIMO tree ornaments

Now that the holidays are getting closer, here is an idea for a tree ornament! Take a look at Austrian artist Yvi`s (Yvonne) Torten & Tortenfiguren flickr gallery, it's full of cute sculpturing including themed figures for various occasions. Some made of suger/cakes paste and some made of fimo clay.
These little figures sitting on top of a round clay ball (or is it a glass ball?) I love the little purple one with it's turning head...
here is her website -

Polymer clay tutorial -
How to create a simple snow globe
Another tutorial I found online is by Ivanna, a Russian mix-media artist who teaches how to create a snow globe of a snowman. All you need a spices glass jar (the one we use to put paprika and other "polymer inclusions") and make your own snow globe!

Polymer clay globe ring
and speaking of globes, here is a globe ring by Donna Cruz-Comia from the Philippines, Donna says she is not keen on making miniatures so this posed a challenge for her. A real statement jewel!

Please forgive my delayed post, a nasty virus happened to like my company. Now all is better and I am back to my regular routines. Have a great week!
