More Fantasy and Sculpturing!

Orly Montac - an israeli student in ceramic design and glass, studying in Bezalel, Jerusalem started to make dolls 1 year ago, her designs are so unique and sweet!.

White Gothic Studios by Regina Edmonds
She started doll making in 1993 when she first saw a porcelain doll studio. Then one day in 1994, she came upon a book about doll making by Rotraut Strott, "Making Original and Portrait Dolls in Cernit", she attempted to sculpt a face. To her own amazement, she came pretty close and haven't stopped sculpting since. In her site your can find fairies, mermaids, dolls, angels and more!

Vince Nitelites - Vince Budnick

Several years ago he was given a couple of blocks of Sculpey III by his mother along with Nan Roche's book "The New Clay".

He always loved light. That has manifested itself as an interest in photography, video, and electronics, and an ongoing progression of sculptures and lamps, so it was only natural for him to check out the light transmitting capabilities of his new medium.

It turns out that Sculpey III passes light nicely, and in the last 6.5 years he made about 50 lamps, Mostly for friends some sold to be given as gifts, and some sold to a craft store.

Julie Picarello - Yellow House Designs
Julie worked in the computer industry for 20 years, and after she was lucky enough to "retire" from my high tech job in 2005 she started her Yellow House Designs.

She always loved "crafts", and over the years she did glass blowing, glass fusing, lampwork beads, wire working, bookmaking, metal etching, silversmithing and more. She first learned about polymer clay in 2004 and found she was more passionate about this medium than any other.

Tips for kaleidoscope cane and Scrap

Tips for Scrap

** Make swirlies from the cane and translucent scrap. An excellent tutorial for this is from Barb Fajardo on PolymerClayCentral.com

**Make small textures. Take a ball of clay, pinch one end and then go take an imprint from something… a grate, a shoe, a button, lace, a stamp Cook like normal and use to add detail texture.

**Make bead guides - roll a sheet at each setting on your pasta machine, use one small cutter to cut a piece out of each sheet. Roll the piece into a ball. Pierce and bake the balls. Make a note on each what thickness and cutter made it. String and keep as a reference.

**Make face cabs. Form a rough oval and use a tiny pinch for the nose. Indent for the eyes. Slice and shape for lips. Use a needle tool and a little alcohol to shape and smooth the tiny features. Bake and either paint, cover or mold your little face.

** Make tool handles - either from the fun scraps or the sludge and cover with cane slices, texture, powders or any other decoration. One idea is to cover the eye of a yarn needle to make your own needle tool. Another is to add clay along one edge of razors to form safe handles for your sharps.
