Finally! My New Facelift! :) Announcing the new PolyPediaOnline Express site & choosing a new website logo

I decided to have a face lift.
Not to myself :)

In the past year I received notes from you guys, letting me know my current website is a little bit too crowded to browse in.
It was cozy and small when I started it 4 years ago but now...a bit too full...

I needed a new plan to build a new website.
A site for all my current tutorials and future classes.

Having you, my students and customers in mind, I started my long quest into building a brand new site, taking all your requests and inputs, all the huge existing amount of data, thinking of an easier way to deliver it to you - single and full classes, technique and final products, freebies and paid classes, full accessibility to each project.
Upgrade!

Like all hand made work, It was tough, demanding, challenging, sometimes frustrating & took quite a while, BUT!
I kept going, knowing it would make a huge difference in your web experience.

The time has come to unveil the curtains!

I am proud to present you my new and improved - PolyPediaOnline Express website.

Express?
Yes!
This website was built especially for you!

I have divided my entire master classes into smaller, easier, affordable sections, projects and tasks.
You can now enjoy all my known classes separated into smaller and shorter chapters, offering each of you, the possibility to learn new techniques according to your own prefference, ability, level or time and upgrade your polymer clay knowledge quickly and much easily.

Single classes?
All classes?
Bracelets only?
Calla lily's fan?
Beads enthusiast?

It's up to your personal choice or desire.
Easy browsing, categories, quick and smart search, secured checkout, special bundle combination and much more!

The Express site includes 135 classes offered as separate or multi-combinations projects in addition to supplies, tools and materials!

Did I mention it's all automatic?
PDF files will be sent as direct downloadable files!

Polymeri Online 10.5.14 | Portugal's polymer colors, Personalised cutlery, Summer-is-here ice cream pen tutorial, Bicycle tires stamps and my new PPE website launching soon

Bokwus polymer clay jewelry
Bokwus - Susana Alves has her own  accessories store in Lisbon, Portugal (if I understood the translation correctly) and uses polymer clay in a wide variety of colours and geometric ethnic designs together with embroidery polymer.
Her jewellery designs are alive and vibrant and her keychain collection is so lovely.
With 69K Facebook fans I am sure her style is very much loved.

Speaking of polymer clay embroidery, here is a quick 2 minutes video (although this work is not considered quick at all!!) showing you the process and patience it requires.
Love the music ;)

Mo Clay offered many polymer clay video tutorials in her channel including spiderman cane, ghost and halloween bat cane.

Rada's fun polymer clay personalised cutlery
Serbian artist Rada Danilovic's Etsy shop is full of cute and colourful personalised cutlery.
Since early childhood she learned from her mother, grandmother and aunts all about the handmade work - sewing, knitting and crocheting.  In her profession she is an agricultural engineer but life took her in a creative path and in the past 10 years she is working as an interior and furniture designer.
When becoming a mother, she discovered a new medium - polymer clay.
Her designs are happy, colourful and fun. You could find a set for each mood or theme!

Polyform free polymer clay ice-cream pen tutorial
Polyform people are doing a lot of marketing these days, promoting their new tools and materials which look very attractive and appealing... Yum!
They have announced the new Souffle clay and many other tools we'd be happy to add to our studio.
Here is one of the tutorials I found in their newly designed website demonstrating a fun ice-cream theme for a pen. So cute!
Add this one to your activities list during kids summer vacation!

Use your old bicycle tires to create stamps!
What would you do with your old bicycle tires? trow them away? No!
Use them to create stamps!
In this super cool project you can cut pieces of old bicycle tires, adhere them onto a wooden stamp or block and stamp polymer clay with it!
This is the coolest idea, thank you Michele Beschen for posting this and to Anke Humpert for posting this in her FB!

ta daaaam.....
Next weeks' post will finally reveal what the sign on the right means - PPE, Plus freebies and a poll.
Any idea what PPE stands for?
My new website is ready for launch, if you want to be the first to see it (i'd be happy to hear your reviews as well), email me to imishly[at]gmail.com and I will send you the link.
You can also join PolyPediaOnline mailing list to be notified about it.

See u soon!

Polymeri Online 1.5.14 | Ivana's secret polymer clay texture, Cracks with table spoon and acetone, Granulated homemade clay, Fantasy Prisme Pebeo paint magic and another IKAT interpretation

While our favourite bloggers are in Malta - PCD (Cynthia) and ThePolymerArts (Sage), I'd try to entertain you guys in the meantime with cyber polymer links.

Ivana's Litchi pendant
Ivana Brožová had a competition asking her Czech Republic friends & voters to guess which texture she used in her pendant.
The voters tried their best and.... the right answer was - a Litchi fruit peel texture!
Nature sure is pretty to capture in polymer! such a creative idea. The winner - Katka V. won the necklace!

Ivona's free IKAT tutorial
Ivana has also posted a fun tutorial for creating a kind of an IKAT plug using colours placed and rolled in clay sheets. check it out -

Desiree's cracks tutorial
Desiree is one of the artists I enjoyed learning from, in my first days as a polymer clay artist (then a hobbyist). These days she posted a tutorial for created cracked clay using a heating gun.
In this technique you are half-curing a sheet of clay and then rolling it in the pasta machine to create hard, deep cracks.
Inspired by techniques she found online by several artists, Desiree is giving us her own tries, angle and tips on the technique, using concentrated heat in a specific shape (table spoon) or a perforated ladel. Very inspiring!
Sometimes I truly think we are working in a chemistry lab and not a polymer clay art studio! :)

Sandra's cracks video tutorial
Sandrartes posted another fun idea for using a heating gun with cracks, in a cute lizard project. She uses acetone (!) to dry the clay and then uses a heating gun over it to half-cure it. The cracks were placed over an un-cured polymer clay sheet and stretched manually.
I love the cheerful music too!
Sandra also posted a video tip for using very dry polymer clay. She is baking the clay, breaking it into pieces and then placing it all in a food processor to receive a granulated powder. great!

Elsie's pebeo paint beautiful pendants
Another future chemistry pro is Elsie Smith, who is posting her beauties on Facebook. Although not the first using this material with polymer, she is definitely doing wonders with it.
French origin "Fantasy Prisme Pebeo paint" looks innocent at first sight but after you start blending it with additional colours or as a single colour,  it starts dividing like cells creating a beautiful 3D, deep effects of faux texture!
The final look of this paint is very shiny which is another advantage!
I am not sure whether you should apply this colour on baked or raw clay but I would guess baked. Elsie mentioned in her Facebook that she is sealing her pendants with Varathane floor finish and then adding the paint so I am guessing again - baked clay.

Elena's liquid-pebeo-prisme paint wings tutorial
You can find several online sources for using this special paint -
Aniko posted a video for using this paint inside metal blanks;
Janice Abarbanel posted Pebeo samples of her work in her blog (all sold out);
Loisirscreatifs also posted about this magical paint and included a video for showing a fast-forward version of the paint effect;
I found a master-class in a Russian blog by Elena Grebennikova demonstrating the steps of using this paint over baked liquid polymer clay;
and last for this post is "Craft Celler" Pinterest gallery showing many samples using this wonder-paint.
Are going to give it a try?

Have a great day!
