Win a FREE copy of my new tutorial - Guessing game!
Yesterday I promised to play a new guessing game with you guys, in regards to my new upcoming tutorial.
This new tutorial (actually there are two of them, in similar techniques) was something I always thought about but couldn't find any leads how to transform it into a polymer clay design, so I sat in my studio and started playing!
Eventually, after I have completed the design and came to my dear husband to show him, he said - Hey! this looks like...!
You can see the photo.
You can see the photo.
Some of you may visited this place but me, I haven't been there before.
Actually, in 2 weeks we are celebrating my son's Bar-Mitzva and all of us are doing a wonderful family trip abroad. One of the locations is this place, we are about to see it in real.

I've no idea where the place is, but it looks like you will have a lot of fun there! As for the tutorial, hmmm . . . I see a tile bracelet with skyscrapers for tiles. I see a segmented brooch. I see a switch plate cover. But knowing you, it will be something TOTALLY unexpected.

ReplyDeleteThe New York New York Hotel and Casino in Los Vegas. Have a safe trip. Not sure what the new tutorial could be. The shapes, color, and patterns of the buildings are interesting. This would make and interesting cane or pen and ink. I know poker chips seem to be popular. I do know I can't wait to see the new tutorial

ReplyDeleteLas Vegas, Nevada. This picture is in the front of New York, New York. Could you possibly be thinking of making making a statute of Liberty cane? Or it could be a picture of this corner in Las Vegas with the roller coaster and the buildings as a backdrop for a cane? You should have a fabulous time...have an awesome party!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm....I see checkered and striped canes for this project - maybe some Mokume - adorning a bracelet. Whatever you do, I know it'll be awesome, and remind us of Las Vegas...even if we've never seen it. Have a wonderful time.

ReplyDeleteHello Iris! :) It's Las Vegas Nv. I got to travel through there as a kid with my family. My dad had been stationed in Camp Pendelton in Oceanside Ca. we were relocating to live there. Was lucky enough to see Vegas at night with all the pretty lights.. So, I'm thinking perhaps something sparkley? Can't wait to see what you have come up with..
ReplyDeleteThis is the Hotel "NewYork" in Las Vegas, with the rollercoaster around. I was in it once, my sister went with the rollercoaster. Las Vegas is great, but for me, to much.

ReplyDeleteHello Las Vegas!!!! Boyfriend is from there. I would think your project has something to do with the skyscrapers and windows... lots of color. Maybe it has something to do with gambling, but that doesn't seem to be to hard to translate into clay.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you are creating a building that you can see inside of the windows...

Wow, so many responses. And as everyone has mentioned it is New York New York in Las Vegas.
ReplyDeleteCan't imagine what your tutorial is all about, but I bet it will be fabulous. Can't wait.

ReplyDeleteThe photo is of the New York Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am not a gambler but the casinos are so varied you can spend all of your time sight seeing. Each of the big ones have a theme and something unique to attract visitors. You can ride a gondola in Venice or walk in a clear tunnel with sharks swimming over your head. Have a wonderful time!!

The location is, of course, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. As far as the tutorial, the group of buildings reminds me of a segmented bracelet. It would be formed with geometric caned pieces. Don't know how you would keep all the tiny "windows" from warping as you stretched the cane, but maybe that wouldn't really matter so much. It is ART, after all!

Hello Iris, my friends on facebook knew it is LA, now I can see everyone here knows.
ReplyDeleteAs for your design, I think it might be lights somehow "lit up" in the design. When one says LA, "lots of lights" comes to my mind. Am really curious!

The New York New York Hotel on the Las Vegas strip is a fun hotel to go to. I browsed through many of the hotels on our last stay. A fun and free thing to see is the water show in front of the Bellagio hotel. So much to see and do there.

Only part of this post showed up. I would delete it but can't figure out how. Sorry
DeleteHi Iris,
ReplyDeleteThe location is Las Vegas. As for the tutorial I'm thinking city skylines as a cane. They would make beautiful center pieces maybe for a necklace or a bracelet. Then again you could be doing a monument cane maybe of the Statue of Liberty. Gosh, you could even be doing the lights of Las Vegas. There are so many options! I'm sure that what ever you end up doing will be great.
Thanks for the guessing game. It was fun!

ReplyDeleteMy guess is Las Vegas too although I've never been there. Either that or somewhere in California. My address is itsangimac@aol.com.
ReplyDeleteHi Irish, im going to guess the Statue of Liberty is your new cane, it is located on Liberty Island in the upper New York waters. Im also thinking maybe you did some kind of landscaping cane with the tall buildings. Thanks so much for the chance to win. huggable59@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteHello Iris,
