Secrets aren't meant to stay secrets - right?
At least not when you're teaching and sharing it with the polymer clay community :)

Back when I started my DiscChic jewellery, I wasn't imagining the curiosity these beads will create.

The DiscChic jewellery were created using reused computer components. 

I discovered them accidentally.

An associate showed me several aluminium parts disassembled, he planned to discard them for recycling so I instantly told him i'll ensure they'll be reused in the most outstanding method!!

Right after collecting all of them, I started creating jewelry from them.

Their “bezel-like” qualities made them ideal for creating beads & being made of metal made them best to combine with polymer clay.

In addition, their “donut-like” form was fantastic for stringing them in exciting innovative techniques.

The DiscChic tutorial was a hit when it was published several years ago.

Until recently I've kept my components mysterious, however, I'm prepared to reveal my personal little secret and be pleased to see your designs, having fun with these interesting findings.

Who knows, right after viewing my online video you might find a treasure concealed in your office drawers.

So, what exactly are these discs?

Well, they're aluminum discs concealed within 3.25 computer floppy discs,

Yes, those no longer to be found in personal computers, the ones we used a long time ago prior to Dvds or USB flash drives.

Oksana's 45 hours project

What would you do if someone asked you to sit for 45 hours and create a single bracelet made of little tiny balls and dots. Would you do it?
Oksana Baskakova (Ksssandorium) calls her bracelet "45 hours of summer sun" and mentions she created it on a rainy day. Each ball is not larger than 2 mm diameter and you can only imagine the amount of patience required for such a piece.

The Japanese way - Rose millefiori cane

Donna Pickering posted a link in her Pinterest gallery showing a Japanese lady - Naomi Shirota, creating millefiori rose cane (Nerikomi technique) without creating a traditional pasta machine skinner blend. Alternatively, she is blending each colour separately and then combining the blend and assembling the rose shape into it's final design. The cane is then "sliced" and formed into a bowl. Inspiring!

Polymer clasp

The ladies (men too?) from the Philadelphia Polymer Clay Guild posted this picture in their flickr gallery showing a clever polymer clay clasp solution.
The joint between the two parts is made of polymer clay and secured with a pin to hold everything in place.
I am not sure who is the creator of this necklace, if you know, please let me know in the comments below and I will credit the designer.

Francine's cute little bears and figures

I am not using my Google Plus account frequently but from time to time I look around and find some goodies. Take a look at the cuteness in Francine Jacksons dolls.

Being a crafty person sketching and painting human figures & facial expressions, she followed her desire to craft.  

After purchasing a "how to" book on polymer clay figures, she was asked to do her first project by a good friend - a very special wedding gift, a bride and groom. Once she received an encouraging and positive feedback, she has been making them every since and enjoying them more and more each day.

I am getting ready for my summer trip to Thailand with 15 friends and family members!
Since we'll all need a good sleep in that long flight I decided to prepare us all cute sleeping eye masks shaped as owl eyes (the beak will be added later).
I can only imagine the look of all of us sleeping with these masks on, I'm sure it will be a hit in the plane!

Bokwus - Susana Alves has her own  accessories store in Lisbon, Portugal (if I understood the translation correctly) and uses polymer clay in a wide variety of colours and geometric ethnic designs together with embroidery polymer.
Her jewellery designs are alive and vibrant and her keychain collection is so lovely.

Mo Clay offered many polymer clay video tutorials in her channel including spiderman cane, ghost and halloween bat cane.

Rada's fun polymer clay personalised cutlery

Serbian artist Rada Danilovic's Etsy shop is full of cute and colourful personalised cutlery.
Since early childhood she learned from her mother, grandmother and aunts all about the handmade work - sewing, knitting and crocheting.  In her profession she is an agricultural engineer but life took her in a creative path and in the past 10 years she is working as an interior and furniture designer.

When becoming a mother, she discovered a new medium - polymer clay.

Polyform free polymer clay ice-cream pen tutorial

Polyform people are doing a lot of marketing these days, promoting their new tools and materials which look very attractive and appealing... Yum!

Use your old bicycle tires to create stamps!

What would you do with your old bicycle tires? trow them away? No!
Use them to create stamps!
In this super cool project you can cut pieces of old bicycle tires, adhere them onto a wooden stamp or block and stamp polymer clay with it!
