New Tutorial Guessing Game!
While I'm working on my new PolyPediaOnline tutorial (quite a thick volume with 11 products and 10 videos) I want to play a little guessing game with you guys.
I am posting 2 partial photos of the designs.
The photos are tiny, I know, but that's the whole point! guessing!
Guess what you think it is, what technique it is - anything you think of!
Of course, I think it's easy :)
Of course, I think it's easy :)
Everyone is invited to participate in the guessing game, I won't be commenting until the tutorial itself will be ready and posted here in the blog with the right answer (and full photos).
One of you guessers (no matter right or wrong) will WIN this tutorial as a GIFT! I will choose one of the numbered comments using a random drawing.
So, what are you waiting for?
place your guess!
:)
The first one looks like Lindly Haunani Textile Inspiration..?
ReplyDeleteSecond, I´d say some kind of mica shift pendant with texture and border?
Lucie - amalkav@yahoo.com
hmmm caning with transluscents and the second with metallics
ReplyDeleteHmmm hard to say...first caning with translucents and the second one with metallics? I can´t see a thing! :D
ReplyDeleteswirl and....
ReplyDeleteI Thing The first is a Cane and The Second is a Pendant Using the Cane of the first photo ^__^
ReplyDeletefirst one.. some mosaic cane technique bracelet on memory wire.. actually could be anything..:)
ReplyDeletesecond one is hand stamped, I guess, pendant?
Orson's at n.otrzan@hvs.hr
It looks like a Natasha cane and then a way to use it.
ReplyDeleteEt bien pour ma part je pense que la 1ere est une cane formée en spirale et la deuxième, un jeu de texture ! (je croise les doigts!)
ReplyDeleteThe first one could be a new cane of a butterfly.
ReplyDeleteThe second might be a basket-like fabric design.
1st-hard to see it clearly...mosiacs?
ReplyDelete2nd -looks like its run thru a crimper then
glitter on the edge. I might be way off. lol.
It's not easy... The first one like Coral, using graduating effect. The second one looks like with metal material in the middle.
ReplyDeleteIt's so great to see these wonderful guesses,
ReplyDeleteIf I were you, I wouldn't have the patience to wait!! lol
:)
Such tiny pictures for aging eyes! But I would guess the first is twisted extrusions, the second some kind of 'ruffled' bead with a line of glittery clay to connect them. They both gave me an immediate feeling of textile.
ReplyDeleteCoffee bean texture and ridged and smooth polymer separated by a beaten metal ring.
ReplyDeleteHi! WOW O-O They seem to be mica shift technique, the second one with a fine metal part. Thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteYou always keep us entertained and challenge us; that's why we love you and follow you.
ReplyDeleteI think they are both cane work. Hope I am right, I don't like to be wrong. LOL
first is a small heap of canes ...
ReplyDeletesecond is jewelry or object made of textures with silver platted chain between both...
;-)))
small is one thing, but for those of us with very bad eyesight those are totally unrecognizable. no guess from me
ReplyDeleteFirst: a cane using basketweave.
ReplyDeleteSecond: metal clay joining two different textured colors.
@Kathi, I know they are small, I'm sorry, bigger photo will reveal the "secret"...
ReplyDeletebut still I am taking your comment as a guess :)
I GUESS...part of some hair clips.
ReplyDeleteThe first represent a part of a flower, the second waves of a comb!!
The first one is a bracelet using stamps and the second one is a border for a journal page using a wave texture plate in 2 different directions and of course both incorporate some sort of caning technique LOL
ReplyDeletejoeanns
The first is like Ikat, coiled. The second is canes butted up to a pola dot line joining the two halves. The second couldbe the background for the Ikat coil.
ReplyDeletethe first: looks like a cane with skinner blend
ReplyDeletethe second reminds me the textures of shells :)
hard to see, such teasing photos!
ReplyDeleteTechniques with ripple blades?
Bargello twisted into a round form
ReplyDeleteWavy blade assemblage

Maybe it is a theme, as in Under the Sea. The first could be an anemone and the second a sea clam.
***************************************
Not sure about the first, some sort of caning, but I think the second is micro-mosaic? Thanks for the chance to win!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, at least it isn't obvious to anyone but you! I am guessing extrusions on both, since they go together ==maybe a Halloween theme?
ReplyDeleteFirst can be one crab or degradèe cord cane and the second.....one pendant
ReplyDeletelorali76@yahoo.co.uk
Oh my eyeballs hurt from looking at these so hard and so long. You are the Teaser Iris. I would guess the first one as some kind of texture technique and the second one a cane technique? Whatever they are, I'm
ReplyDeletesure they will be exciting as your creations always are. Can't wait to see them. Dixie Ann
Hmm...the first looks like a twisted spiral of some sort and the second like ripple blade mica shift :-)
ReplyDeleteCarrie.
Hmm - the first looks like a twisted spiral of some sort, and the second like a ripple blade mica shift :-)
ReplyDeleteThe first one looks to be either some mosaic piece or a twisted spiral. the second looks like a mica shift created with a ripple effect stamp - with a metallic piece of chain or metal as its border.
ReplyDeleteLooked at the photos again more closely; the first one seems like strips rolled inside a sheet and the second one definitely looks like a mica shift technique but with the metallic bit in between the two colors not at the border as I first thought.
ReplyDeleteThe second one could be the beginning of a jellyroll with two colors and a kind of foil in-between.
ReplyDeleteThe first one than could be a number of finished jellyrolls together, ready for use in any amazing project.
Wauuu, it's a very demanding decision :)
ReplyDeleteThe first looks like playing with something like bargello cane + Skinner blends and second one looks like some wavy/riple texture :)
Oh, that's hard. Maybe a ring for the first one and a bracelet for the second.
ReplyDeleteFirst one looks like a pile of gorgeous milk chocolate and white {or tan} striped rolled canes, though it doesn't look like there is a middle piece. The second one looks like multiple black and red cylinders or ripple cut red and black clay used for a beautiful pendant or pin, with a slice of glitter clay in the center. Can't wait to see the finished true project!!
ReplyDeleteThe first one looks like porcupine needles so maybe a design using that and the second one looks to me like using a ripple blade to make a mica shift design.
ReplyDeleteWow! So hard. I think the first is how to make a "shell look" or tortoise shell cane and the second, a chain insertion technique. Thanks Iris for the great opportunities you provide us with. Looking forward to finding out what you have been up to!
ReplyDeleteWell, too small for me to tell. :( But, if you made it, it will be fabulous!
ReplyDeletefireflies swarming at night, and the really really red sea shoreline??
ReplyDeleteHow about this I just give up can't see the pictures well enough to see so I give
ReplyDeletejust waiting till you tell us
Sam
FOR THE FIRST I WOULD GUESS THAT IS MADE FROM A BLADE SKIN CANE TECHNIGUE AND IT LOOKS TO BE A FLOWER. IN THE SECOND YOU PROPABLY HAVE USED EXTRUDER TECHNIGUE IN ORDER TO MAKE THE CANES IN THE MIDLE AND THEN YOU PUSH THE SHEET WITH A TEXTURE DESIGN.
ReplyDeleteits a cane and mics shift, I guess...
ReplyDeleteThe colors together on the lower one remind me of a Monarch butterfly!?
ReplyDeleteThe first one looks like polymer equivalent of chain maille and the second one looks like extruded tubes with translucent metallics...
ReplyDeleteposting on behalf of Suzanne
ReplyDelete********************************************
1 extruded clay looking like a silk cord.
2 mokume gane
********************************************
ok I'll guess..1st maybe a curved bargella and 2nd textured pc w/ added glitter or a type of shinny cord
ReplyDeleteI say its a translucent cane & a metallic one.
ReplyDeleteTo me it looks like a mica shift technique with a twist and wrap for both - using different colors.
ReplyDeleteThey really are tiny... the first one looks like a flower; the second one looks rather like a texture design...
ReplyDeleteI think that the bottom one is a close up from your Brocade collection.
ReplyDeleteThe top one looks like "snakes" you would use as trim around a piece such as the sandals in your 3 flip-flop tutorials, or your millifiori bugs, or your geometric mosquito necklace.
My eys are aching from going through all of the pictures on your site! It took me about 4 hours to look at everything I could - I sure hope my work wasn't for naught!
Thie first looks like a variation of IKAT Millefiori Cane beads from your wonderful tutorial.
ReplyDeleteThe second could be a mica shift trimmed with cross sectioned Striped Cane. I can not make out any detail in the black part of the image.
The first one could be somethig made with micromosaic and in the second I see micashift or stamp texture. Anyway, sure you are going to surprise us as you made with your tiny purses of the brocade collection...nobody gave the answer, remember?
ReplyDeletethe first might have to be canning technique and the second with be texture technique :) so little to see ....
ReplyDelete1st one is caning w'white-trans-brown-2nd one ripple blade cut mica shift-can't wait 2 find out!!!
ReplyDeleteswirl cane and flower
ReplyDelete1. Polymer Clay mimicking a spiders body
ReplyDelete2. Polymer Clay mimicking patchwork fabric
1. A Natasha rolled cane
ReplyDelete2. A ripple cuff or bracelet
1-barguello
ReplyDelete2- waves-made with ripple blade
...anything more "guessing"??!!! I think it's a birds house, with swirl decorations!
ReplyDeleteI have looked and looked. The first one looks like a cane that CZC (city zen cane) did years ago...but too little for my eyes!!!
ReplyDeleteVery hard to tell. First--long strips of clay gathered into a flower? Second--a pendant made of clay cut with a wavy blade?
ReplyDeleteI think the 1st picture is a white, gold, and brown skinner blend wrapped in gold. The 2nd photo looks to me like several red and black canes separated with aluminum foil.?????
ReplyDeletethe first looks likes one tiny twisted extrusions of metallic clay, the second a ruffled ribbon effect of some kind with a cane slice between...hmmmmm very interesting but tiny!
